Scholarships

The VSAC scholarships booklet, available in print and online:

  • describes approximately 150 scholarships open to Vermonters.
  • contains the application for all VSAC-assisted scholarships.
  • has application details for nearly 40 other scholarships for Vermonters.

Please note that the application postmark deadline for all VSAC-assisted scholarships has passed for the 2011–2012 academic year.

The deadlines for other scholarships listed on pages 40–50 of the booklet will remain open through July 2011. Review the scholarships on these pages to identify the ones you may be eligible for and to obtain application instructions.

For a printed copy of the booklet, visit your high school guidance office or e-mail publications@vsac.org to receive a copy through the mail. To view the booklet online, visit www.vsac.org/scholarships.

Researching scholarships is worth the effort since scholarships usually do not have to be repaid.

No single source lists all available scholarships, so use many resources.

NOTE: Scholarships can affect a student’s overall financial aid, so ask each college how it handles outside scholarships:

  • Will the college reduce its own aid, or can the family use the scholarship to reduce its out-of-pocket expense?
